Junya Watanabe MAN and Reigning Champ are back with a punchy SS25 capsule that blends sartorial rebellion with athletic comfort. Reviving the designer’s deconstructed aesthetics from his Spring/Summer 2025 Paris show, the duo’s latest collaboration reimagines Reigning Champ’s Midweight Terry hoodie and pants through a punk-meets-tradition lens.

Crafted from breathable Midweight Terry cotton, the garments are ideal for summer layering or navigating unpredictable in-between seasons. But it’s the detailing that elevates this drop. Think tartan and flannel patchwork clashing against red corduroy, frayed black denim, and asymmetrical paneling—all stitched with sashiko-inspired embroidery, a nod to Japan’s centuries-old art of decorative mending.
The hoodie carries a slightly structured fit, with the appliqué work focusing on the torso, while the relaxed-fit pants bring visual punch to the knees. Unlike Reigning Champ’s usual Western sizing, the pieces follow Junya Watanabe’s Japanese cut, emphasizing a different silhouette that’s as collectible as it is wearable.
This isn’t just fashion—it’s function layered with storytelling. Sashiko-style stitches act as both decoration and philosophy: imperfections are amplified, not hidden. Tartan patches nod to British heritage while red corduroy screams underground rebellion.
This limited-edition drop is available now at the official Reigning Champ webstore. As with all things Junya, expect it to sell out fast and turn heads even faster.
