Originally founded in 1994 by Oliver Ike and Marc Newson, Ikepod produced watches with sleek and futuristic designs, resulting in timepieces that were unlike anything else before them. Newson left Ikepod in 2012 and the brand’s production came to a halt. Six years later, Ikepod was resurrected through a successful Kickstarter campaign when renowned designer Emmanuel Gueit took over operations. Now, Ikepod has introduced its Skypod SK02 Mårten and Skypod SK01 Eero. With beautiful dial styling by Claesson Koivisto Rune, the watches are timeless, functional, and durable – perfect for everyday wear or special occasions.
The Skypod SK02 Mårten features a blue “peacock” dial and has a titanium case. The black version of the Skypod, the SK01 Eero, was also released as part of this limited edition run. Each watch features Swiss Made La Joux-Perret 8103 24dt movement. These New Old Stock components were serviced in 2022 by Roland Gloor. The newly designed dials by Claesson Koivisto Rune, round out these beautiful timepieces. The Ikepod Skypod watches feature a window for the date and has the same intricate look as a vintage Ikepod called the Megapode Chronograph. Each watch was designed and assembled in Switzerland at the Gland/VD historical workshop. The two Ikepod Skypod limited edition watches feature a rubber strap with pins. Both watches will be limited to only 25 pieces in each color pattern. The watches are expected to ship at the end of December 2022. The price for either watch is $8,900.
