Remember the Commodore 64? HP’s EliteBoard G1a takes that keyboard‑computer concept into the AI era. Recognized as a CES 2026 Innovation Award Honoree, the EliteBoard is essentially a complete Copilot+ PC built into a 12mm‑thin keyboard weighing about 750g. According to HP, it’s the company’s smallest and lightest AI PC, yet it packs an AMD Ryzen AI 300 series processor with an on‑board neural processing unit delivering up to 50 TOPS of local AI performance.

The all‑in‑one keyboard includes dual microphones and speakers, a pre‑paired wireless mouse, and optional features like a 32W internal battery and an integrated fingerprint sensor. It connects to any USB‑C display and supports AI features through Windows 11’s Copilot+, allowing voice commands and on‑device AI processing without an internet connection. HP Wolf Security for Business protects firmware and AI workflows from quantum‑level threats. Despite its power, the EliteBoard is built for real‑world use with a spill‑resistant, easy‑clean design, optional tethered USB‑C cable and Kensington lock, and full manageability for IT departments. HP expects the EliteBoard to ship in March; pricing will be announced closer to launch.

The idea of reclaiming desk space by hiding a desktop PC in a keyboard feels both retro and forward‑looking.
