‘Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return To Hogwarts’ Retrospective Coming To HBO Max

The cast will reunite for this special that commemorates the franchise’s anniversary.

It’s time to rejoice Harry Potter fans! Celebrating this, the 20th anniversary of the Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone premiere, HBO has released a sneak-peek trailer and photo along with a statement announcing the premiere of the upcoming special: “The retrospective special will tell an enchanting making-of story through all-new in-depth interviews and cast conversations, inviting fans on a magical first-person journey through one of the most beloved film franchises of all time.” This will be the first time the Harry Potter stars have been seen together on-screen since 2011’s Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows – Part 2.

The special, Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts on HBO Max, will highlight Emma Watson, Daniel Radcliffe, and Rupert Grint who played the roles of Hermione Granger, Harry, and Ronald Weasely. They will be joined by director, Chris Columbus and other cast members of the eight Harry Potter films for this special reunion including Tom Felton, Gary Oldman, Robbie Coltrane, Ralph Fiennes, Jason Isaacs, Imelda Staunton, James Phelps, Oliver Phelps, and Mark Williams, among others. The released photo shows the three main stars seated together in a room which is likely the Gryffindor Common Room in Hogwarts. The Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts premieres exclusively on HBO Max on Jan. 1, 2022, and all eight films of the fantasy series are available to stream right now on HBO Max as well.
