Georg Jensen Arne Jacobsen Steel Cutlery Set

This futuristic cutlery set may look like it belongs in outer space, but it'll also perfectly complement any modern terrestrial décor.

One of the top architects and designers of the 20th century, Arne Jacobsen employed a distinctive “less is more” approach that epitomizes Danish minimalism. When he crafted a highly unique cutlery set for the silverware company Georg Jensen in the 1950s, he couldn’t have known that his work would become immortalized in the worlds of cinema and science fiction through a highly memorable appearance in Stanley Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey.

Strangely elongated and smoothly contoured, the Georg Jensen Arne Jacobsen Steel Cutlery Set certainly looks as though it belongs in outer space. But it will also perfectly complement any modern terrestrial décor.

This five-piece set (dinner fork, dinner knife, soup spoon, salad fork, and teaspoon) is composed entirely of stainless steel with a muted matte finish. Despite its futuristic appearance, not a single detail has been changed since the original release of this set more than 60 years ago.
