Swedish designer Erik Schedin’s commitment to elegant simplicity dates back to his time as an undergraduate. During his final year at Beckmans College in Stockholm, he revolutionized the footwear industry with a concept that was unheard of at the time: a monochromatic sneaker with no labels or logos that featured a leather upper and rubber sole in matching white.
This minimalist design launched a career in leather sneakers that has spanned a decade. Partnering with legendary Japanese fashion label COMME des GARÇONS in honor of the 10th anniversary of his brand, Erik Schedin releases a canvas version of the original leather sneaker design that made him famous.
Available in off-white, mineral grey, and deep blue, the Erik Schedin Canvas Sneaker remains true to the designer’s trademark minimal aesthetic. The shoe’s upper section is composed of 100-percent cotton canvas and finished with enamel eyelets and waxed laces. For the sole, Erik Schedin has retained his devoted use of Italian-made rubber, furnishing the shoe with rubberized toecaps and a vulcanized rubber outsole.
