The Bolide was shaped to dominate a circuit; the Destrier explores what happens when its extraordinary proportions are allowed to speak more softly. Bugatti’s third Programme Solitaire commission transforms the track machine into a one-off study in sculpture, material, and restraint—at least by Molsheim standards.

Named after the powerful horse ridden by medieval knights, the Destrier retains the Bolide’s carbon-fiber monocoque and complete quad-turbocharged 8.0-liter W16 powertrain, producing 1,600 PS, or approximately 1,578 horsepower. Its new bodywork minimizes the parent car’s overt aerodynamic addenda without entirely abandoning functional elements such as the front splitter, rear diffuser, and a blended wing recalling the Chiron Profilée.

At just 39.4 inches tall, the Destrier has the lowest silhouette Bugatti has created. Its 20-inch front and 21-inch rear wheels replace the Bolide’s 18-inch setup, further exaggerating the car’s stance. The familiar C-line pauses ahead of the front wheel arch before continuing toward a wider horseshoe grille, while Sapphire Celeste paint, polished aluminum trim, and color-matched exposed carbon fiber soften the underlying competition hardware.

Inside, Ambre Voyageur leather and nubuck meet seamless 3D-knitted textile threaded with copper yarn. Hammered metal accents reference medieval armor, while a hand-laser-engraved plate depicting the Type 57G Tank and Type 57SC Atlantic connects the project to Bugatti’s history of deriving racers and grand tourers from a shared chassis.

The Destrier is already spoken for as a commissioned one-of-one, and its price remains undisclosed. Its public unveiling is scheduled for Monterey Car Week, culminating at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance on August 16, 2026.
