In a fresh twist on their classic design, Brew Watches has teamed up with culinary connoisseur Alton Brown to introduce the Brew x Alton Brown Retrograph Relic Watch. This timepiece marries vintage allure with modern functionality. This special edition watch redefines the aesthetic of aging with a beautifully oxidized dial that sports an “espresso-esque” patina reminiscent of the rich crema atop a freshly brewed espresso.
Encased in a 316L stainless steel frame with an antique bronze-colored PVD coating, the Brew Retrograph Relic’s soft-edged rectangular body measures 38mm wide and 10.40mm thick, maintaining the dimensions of its Retrograph predecessors for comfortable wear. Unique to this model is its pseudo-bund-style strap crafted by U.S. strap maker Billykirk in shell cordovan, enhancing its wrist presence and vintage appeal.
Underneath its flat sapphire bezel, the dial does away with the traditional date and 24-hour register found in the Retrograph lineup, opting for a pleasantly asymmetrical design instead. The watch features a 60-minute elapsed time register and Brew’s signature bean motif while maintaining the handy espresso timing seconds track—a nod to perfect espresso shot timing.
Turning the watch over reveals a caseback adorned with an artistic rendering of Alton Brown, marking each piece as one of the limited 250 produced. Powered by the reliable Seiko VK64 Meca-Quartz Hybrid chronograph movement, the Retrograph Relic promises both precision and flair.
Priced at $595 and limited to just 250 pieces, this collaboration offers an exclusive blend of style, utility, and the thrill of owning a piece of horological art, complete with a signature cocktail recipe from Alton Brown himself.
