Breitling has just announced its latest collaboration with Ford Motor Company for its Top Time watch collection. This latest addition to the collection is the Breitling Top Time B01 Ford Thunderbird watch, a tribute to the iconic 1950s American car. The Top Time was originally launched in the 1960s by Willy Breitling, who sought to capture the energy and excitement of the era. Since then, the Top Time has become a timeless classic, and its latest iteration pays tribute to one of the most iconic cars of the 1950s.
The Ford Thunderbird was first unveiled in 1954 and quickly became known for its luxurious design, solid build, and dramatic tailfin. The Top Time B01 Ford Thunderbird features the colors and emblem of its classic-car counterpart, as well as a perforated leather racing strap, speed-measuring tachymeter scale, and contrasting “squircle” subdials that give the feel of vintage dashboard gauges.
In terms of its technical specifications, the Top Time B01 Ford Thunderbird is powered by the exceptional Breitling Manufacture Caliber 01, a self-winding mechanical movement with a power reserve of approximately 70 hours. It also features a 1/4th second chronograph, 30-minute and 12-hour totalizers, and 40 jewels.
The watch has a 41mm stainless steel case, a fixed bezel, and a non-screw-locked crown with two gaskets. It is water-resistant up to 100 meters and has a cambered sapphire crystal that is glare-proofed on both sides. The strap is made of red calfskin leather and comes with a folding clasp made of stainless steel.
