Known for his unconditional emphasis on functionality, Danish furniture designer Borge Mogensen presents the Spanish Chair. It resembles a fishing chair or a director’s throne in a movie set, but the Borge Mogensen Spanish Chair was inspired by traditional chairs often found in areas influenced by ancient Islamic culture – from Andalusia to northern India. Borge eliminated the elaborate carvings while broadening the armrests to provide a practical space to place a glass or a cup. Made from oak with the choice of lacquered or unfinished, and black or natural leather.
