In the world of German-tuned performance cars, the name Alpina swings some serious weight. On December 10, RM Sotheby’s will auction off a limited-production 1986 BMW Alpina B7 Turbo Coupe/1. This vintage Alpina bimmer is part of the Youngtimer Collection. It is one of 110 examples built between April 1986 through August 1987, with documentation to prove it.
Under the hood of this 1986 BMW Alpina B7 Turbo coupe beats a 3.5-liter turbocharged straight-six engine. This engine is a number matching as it left the factory and rated at 334 horsepower, backed by a five-speed manual transmission. Inside, the BMW Alpina B7 sports a pair of Recaro bucket seats dressed in black leather upholstery to match its exterior’s Diamond Black paint. Other features include an electric sunroof, green-tinted glass, and a 25-percent locking differential.
The car’s current owner acquired the B7 Coupe in 2015. Since the car was first registered near Dusseldorf, Germany back in 1986, it has only had four owners in its lifetime. The car hasn’t been driven more than 125 miles since 2015. RM Sotheby’s auction of the 1986 BMW Alpina B7 Turbo Coupe/1 is set for December 10th. This means one BMW enthusiast will be ringing in the new year with a shiny new collector car.
