At the northern limits of Norway’s borders, nothing is as heartwarming as a sip of whisky to light the fire from within that’s needed to trek through that frozen terrain. Bivrost Niflheim Single Malt Whisky hails from a distillery located at 69°N under the emerald aura of the Northern Lights. There, meltwater sourced from Elvejordvannet at the footsteps of the Lyngen Alps is used along with Planet and Popino nordic barley to form a single malt whisky that bears the elements it was created within. Once the whisky is triple-distilled it goes on to be aged inside of casks crafted from sherry, bourbon, and virgin oak that infuses the spirit with its distinct taste.
The 46% ABV whisky offers an especially drinkable taste thanks to its rich flavor profile and a long and sweet finish. Its nose immerses the palate with the tastes of dried fruits and toasted nuts that transition into the taste of hazelnuts. Once that sweet nuttiness subsides, the flavor notes offered by a blend of spices take over for a warm finish that is a perfect cure for the cold.
