For more than a century Barbour has defined the quintessential British country look. The manufacturer’s signature wax cotton jackets have transcended the brand into a genre all of their own. Whether it is trekking through the North York Moors, grouse shooting in Scotland, or simply brunching in Kensington, the signature Barbour look defines British living.
Yet this heritage brand is receiving an injection of Scandinavian cool with a collaboration with the Danish contemporary fashion brand Wood Wood. The two famous, yet different brands have paired up for a capsule menswear collection for the autumn/winter season. Following the success of a previous collaboration of a limited edition jacket in 2012, this new project features a complete collection of jackets, shirts, sweats, and accessories.
Each item is imbued with the functionality, durability, and low-key elegance that Barbour is known for, along with the sleek, modern aesthetic that Wood Wood personifies. Some of Barbour’s most classic pieces, such as the corduroy collar wax cotton jacket, have been given a Wood Wood spin, with colorful zipper plackets, playful linings, embroidery, hoods, or graphic color blocking. In natural textiles like cotton, corduroy, and wool the collection offers supple yet strong materials that would both look and perform well on a British hunting shoot or on a stormy Danish coastline.
The collection is understandably covetable, with a few of the pieces already sold out. Don’t miss your chance to get in on the action on Wood Wood’s site.
