This collab seems like an odd duck at first glance – after all, the only in-car audio Scuderia Ferrari’s Leclerc and Sainz are worried about is the pit team screaming for them to come in before their tires liquefy. And what good is a logo placement going to do? The only time F1 cars aren’t pushing 200 MPH is a few precious seconds per race in the pit.
But digging a little deeper shows a meaningful connection between Bang & Olufsen and Scuderia Ferrari, two brands that, as Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna puts it, serve as a “point of reference in [their] field.” Both brands constantly reinvent themselves by researching new materials and styles that push the bounds of what’s possible.
“[Our brand is] built on innovation, exceptional craftsmanship, and world-class performance,” said Bang & Olufsen CEO Kristian Teär. “We believe that Scuderia Ferrari is the perfect partner to build these moments for music and Formula 1 fans alike.”
Within the context of the partnership, customers will experience these moments in Bang & Olufsen stores worldwide as well as at Scuderia Ferrari’s trackside facilities, where Bang & Olufsen will install Beolab loudspeakers and its renowned immersive TV experiences.
Will race attendees be treated to the 300-pound, 125dB Beolab 90’s? They would seem like the best contenders to overcome the noise of the track – and maybe that’s the point. In the meantime, we’ll settle for Ferrari-branded Beoplay H95’s.
