This week, Balenciaga held its 51st Couture show in Paris which featured a star-studded cast of Kim Kardashian, Dua Lipa, Nicole Kidman, and Naomi Campbell, presenting the luxury brand’s sleek fashions designed by creative director Demna Gvasalia. Models each carried the Balenciaga | Bang & Olufsen Speaker Bag which merges the Danish high-end consumer electronics company’s audio excellence with Balenciaga’s lustrous design.
The bag features an aluminum body with meticulously placed speaker holes to allow the powerful, full-range sound expected from the Bang & Olufsen speaker with controls under the bag’s handle. At the rear of the bag, a door opens to reveal a sizeable compartment with ample storage. Each of the limited-edition bags is milled from solid aluminum, pearl-blasted, anodized, and hand-polished at Bang & Olufsen’s Factory 5 in Struer, Denmark before being sent to Balenciaga for hand-wrapping in Balenciaga’s Italian lambskin leather. “This bag is a testament to what happens when two very special companies with an unparalleled heritage of craftsmanship join forces,” said Bang & Olufsen Chief Design Officer Miklu Silvanto.
The technology-obsessed fashionista will need to act fast. Fewer than 20 editions of the bespoke speaker bag remain available for purchase at the new Balenciaga Couture store in Paris. The Balenciaga brand is synonymous with luxury with its sleekly designed collections of clothing, shoes, purses, hats, bags, and the Balenciaga H2O Bottle, and the Speaker Bags are no different.
