Celebrating the Group C Era of endurance racing and the dawn of the Digital Age, Autodromo has just unveiled its first digital watch the Group C Sport Chronograph. The watch strives to replicate the slab-sided shape of the 1980s racers like the Porsche 962C and Sauber C9. Using stainless steel for the watch case is like an ode to the exposed silver elements of these historic racers. Meanwhile, the brightly colored pushers reference the fluorescent-hued mirrors of Group C cars.
The Autodromo Group C Car watch features a sapphire crystal with AR coating and a cutaway symmetrical sloping edge to reveal its black and white LCD module. Plus, this watch sports a blue EL backlight reminiscent of the simplicity of timepieces before the advent of the smartwatch. Additionally, Autodromo says the Group C watch can time laps and split times, displaying the date and time with micro precision, and there’s also an alarm.
The watch comes with a custom molded reversible FKM rubber strap, with 20mm lugs enabling a swap with any of the company’s leather straps. Group C Era car watches come in DLC black with yellow and red detailing, gray with lime green details, silver with yellow details, or yellow cerakote—currently in stock online at Autodromo for $475.
