The new Audi e-tron S is set to add a sporty addition to the company’s electric lineups. The e-tron S uses a tri-motor electric powertrain with two of the motors placed on the rear axle. If you’ve always wanted an electric car with plenty of power, you’ll find it here. The e-tron S has 429 hp on top of 596 pound-feet of torque. A boost function optimizes performance for eight seconds at 496 hp and 718 pound-feet of torque. That means you can go from 0 to 60 in 4.5 seconds. If anything sums up its powerful performance it’s that the e-tron S has a speed limiter, which is set at 131 mph.

Don’t let the electric powertrain fool you — this car is worthy of Audi’s sporty distinction. When you accelerate to take a turn, the electric motor on the outside wheel gets 162 pound-feet of extra torque over the inside wheel to hug the road. All of that power can be quickly recharged from 5 percent to 80 percent of battery capacity in about 30 minutes using a 150 kW rapid charger.
