Technical shells are easy to recycle in theory and notoriously difficult to dismantle in practice. The Arc’teryx Sperro SV treats that end-of-life problem as part of its engineering brief rather than an afterthought.

The multisport mountain hardshell is the first product developed under System 0, Arc’teryx’s framework for connecting material selection, durability, repair, and end-of-life recovery. Its GORE-TEX Pro fabric uses an ePE membrane to provide durable waterproof, windproof, and breathable protection without turning circular design into a performance compromise.

Arc’teryx and Aquafil separately engineered the nylon face fabric and backer for recyclability. When the jacket can no longer be repaired, a chemical process grinds the fabric, separates the nylon from the GORE-TEX membrane, and returns the nylon to Aquafil for regeneration into virgin-grade ECONYL yarn. The process gives the jacket a more clearly defined second life than a conventional mixed-material laminate.

Repairability is equally concrete. The Sperro SV introduces Arc’teryx’s first easily replaceable zipper slider and includes three years of unlimited out-of-warranty repairs through the brand’s ReBIRD program. Arc’teryx also identifies it as the first product certified under the TESTEX Circularity standard.

The Sperro SV launches globally on September 4 through Arc’teryx stores and its online shop. U.S. pricing has not been announced.
