The 1st generation AirPods Pro were amazing and worthy of their price point. While Apple is commonly known for small progressive updates to iPhones, the new AirPods Pro 2 are an exception with a massive leap forward. Completely re-engineered, noise cancellation and adaptive transparency have been taken to the next level, reducing more external noise for a richer and more immersive audio experience. Apple says that noise cancellation is 2x more active than before with the rear vent microphone placed to better detect sound coming in. Noise is reduced an incredible 48,000 times per second thanks to the new H2 processor.

Spatial audio is awesome, especially if you listen to high-quality Dolby Atmos music on Apple Music. If you haven’t listened to spatial audio yet, it is a fantastic experience. The H2 chip with fast processing speeds and computational algorithms will further improve how incredible audio sounds. With all Apple products, leaps in processing power also come with reduced power usage. Battery life is now more efficient, providing six hours before needing a quick recharge in the AirPods Pro case.

Apple has constantly improved the functions a simple click performs on all AirPod models, such as playing and pausing your tunes, answering and ending calls, and switching between modes. The 2nd generation Pros bring the one control everyone wanted, the ability to adjust the volume with a simple swipe. You no longer need to reach for your phone to adjust the volume. And get this! The spatial audio now works with the TrueDepth camera on your iPhone to create a profile of your head’s geometry, so the new audio drivers deliver even more incredible sound. If you add one thing to this year’s Christmas list, the new AirPod Pros are a can’t-miss. Preorders for $249 start on September 9th on the Apple site and will be available as of September 23rd.
