After tinkering with trailer construction for decades in the backyard of his Los Angeles home, Airstream founder Wally Byam introduced his first commercial trailer in 1936. By 1948, he had gone international. Heading out for an inaugural European journey, he and his friend Cornelius Vanderbilt painted the words “Globe Trotters” on the side of a very special Airstream.
The new Airstream Globetrotter combines the classic look of the all-American Airstream with the spirit of modern European design. The result is an Airstream model that feels absolutely timeless while operating with incredible state-of-the-art efficiency.
Conceived in UK, the Globetrotter’s striking interior space incorporates design elements from across Europe. Although exceptionally innovative and distinctive, the Globetrotter features clean lines and lustrous aluminum walls follow the iconic Airstream profile to a T.
Drawing upon more than 8 decades of trailer-building experience, Airstream has created a series of Globetrotter floor plans that stress flexible living, ample storage, and an incredibly open and airy feel. The Airstream Globetrotter is also built for supreme comfort with a Quietstream ducted climate control system that can quickly and effectively heat and cool in near absolute silence. Other comforts of home provided by the Globetrotter include a Tuft & Needle adaptive foam mattress in the bedroom, a real porcelain toilet in the bathroom, as stainless steel cooktop with glass top, and ample USB and 110V outlets in every room.
