Created specifically for Michael Jordan by Nike shoe designer Tinker Hatfield, the Air Jordan IV (also known as the Air Jordan “Bred”) made global waves when it dropped in 1989. And, over the years, this legendary sneaker has continued to attract new enthusiasts.
In honor of the Air Jordan IV’s 30th anniversary, Nike is releasing a retro model in the iconic 1989 black colorway with white, grey, and red accents. Every detail in this faithful recreation of the original Bred is specifically designed to make classic sneaker lovers happy. Nike even brings back Nike Air branding elements on the heel, outsole, and sockliner that haven’t seen the light of day since 1999. And, for an extra dose of nostalgic flair, these shoes come in an exact replica of the first Air Jordan IV box from 1989.
The Bred release is currently limited to men’s sizes, with plans to release unisex and family sizes soon.
