The new Air Jordan 1 High ’85 College Navy will hit shelves on April 2nd, two days before the 2022 NCAA tournament championship game. The timing is right, as this shoe honors the famed college championship game Jordan played on March 29, 1982. MJ, wearing the original Air Jordan 1, hit the game-winning shot, bringing the championship trophy to the University of North Carolina.
Michael Jordan later broke league rules in 1985 by wearing his legendary Air Jordan 1 shoes. The new Air Jordan 1 High ’85 College Navy recreates the iconic and controversial shoe while honoring UNC and the 40th anniversary of Jordan’s 16-foot jump shot that sealed the game for the Tar Heels. The Air Jordan 1 High ’85 College Navy features the original styling of the Air Jordan 1 with premium leather and the new navy blue colorway. Signature style codes appear on the shoe in the form of a Wings logo at the ankle and a signature Swoosh stamped at the side wall. It is the latest edition for fans and collectors who can’t get enough of the shoe that was once “banned” by the NBA.
