Last year, adidas shook up the sneaker world when it paired with Kanye West to update its popular Powerphase tennis shoe from the 1980s. The Yeezy Powerphase retained the essential design of the original Powerphase while incorporating modern flourishes for today’s marketplace. Hot on the heels of this successful venture, adias has announced the upcoming release of a new vintage redesign.
The adias Rascal takes a fresh look at the classic adidas Continental: a simple, sporty shoe that, like the Powerphase, made a big splash in the ‘80’s. Sharing much in common with the Yeezy Powerphase, the Rascal features a similar EVA cushioned midsole, eyelet-adjacent Adidas branding, and perforated detailing. As its primary point of difference, it abandons the Yeezy Powerphase’s gold-stamped Calabasas logo with a sleek two-tone stripe of deep navy blue and dark cherry red. Watch for these ultra-cool sneakers to drop in June.
