Chevrolet has resurrected the storied Grand Sport name for the 2027 model year, introducing two distinct performance cars built on the eighth‑generation Corvette platform. At the core of the rear‑drive Grand Sport is an all‑new LS6 6.7‑liter V8. This naturally aspirated small‑block produces 535 horsepower and 520 lb‑ft of torque and will become the standard engine across the broader Corvette lineup.

Designed for purists, the Grand Sport pairs its V8 with an eight‑speed dual‑clutch transmission and comes standard with Magnetic Ride Control. An optional performance package adds Michelin Pilot Cup 2 tires, a prominent rear wing and larger brakes.

For those seeking even more power, the all‑wheel‑drive Grand Sport X adds an electric motor on the front axle. Combined with the LS6 V8, the hybrid system delivers 721 horsepower and 644 lb‑ft of torque. Drivers can choose between Endurance and Qualifying modes that optimize battery deployment for lap times or longevity; a Push‑to‑Pass function unleashes maximum electric boost for brief spurts.

The car can even operate in EV‑only Stealth and Shuttle modes at low speeds. Chevrolet has integrated cooling and battery packaging without compromising the Corvette’s mid‑engine proportions, creating what may be the most capable street‑legal Corvette to date.

Both versions of the Grand Sport feature subtle design tweaks: a wider front fascia with integrated dive planes, vented front fenders and a new interpretation of the traditional hash‑mark stripes on the rear quarter panels. Color options include Admiral Blue Metallic, with the option of a Santorini Blue interior for the first time.

Production will begin at Bowling Green in summer 2026, with pricing to be announced closer to launch.
