BMW unveiled its largest and most powerful M-badged vehicle yet, the 2024 BMW XM Label Red. This plug-in hybrid full-size SUV may split hairs in terms of styling, but everyone agrees its 700+ horsepower rating is fantastic.
The 2024 BMW XM Label Red drivetrain consists of a 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8, an electric motor, and eight-speed automatic transmission – in that order. The result of this engineered sundae is a 738-horsepower luxury SUV capable of sprinting from zero to 60 in 3.7 seconds. In addition, it offers an estimated all-electric range of 30 miles using a 19.2-kWh lithium-ion battery. Moreover, as with most M-powered Bimmers, the XM Label Red’s top speed is electronically limited to 155 mph or 175 mph with the optional M Driver’s package.
Other performance upgrades on the 2024 BMW XM Label Red include adaptive dampers, active anti-roll bars, M compound brakes, and a limited-slip differential. The XM Label Red rides on a set of 23-inch wheels as standard or 22-inch at no additional cost. Of course, part of the aesthetic with the XM Label Red is the color. Toronto Red rings can be seen around the SUV’s kidney grille, on the wheels, and a Starsky and Hutch-like stripe along its profile.
The red mist continues inside, with the HVAC vents painted red and red stitching visible throughout the XM Label Red’s spacious interior. Standard interior amenities include a 1475-watt Bowers & Wilkins surround-sound audio system, a 3D headliner, and myriad M-specific controls in addition to BMW’s semi-autonomous drive mode allowing hands-free driving at speeds up to 85 mph on certain roads. Pricing on the 2024 BMW XM Label Red will be available in August when it goes into production in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
