Ducati has unveiled a new Monster SP motorcycle for the 2023 model year. This new superbike joins the Ducati 937cc Monster and Monster+ in the lineup. It is based on the current Monster but bestowed with an SP (Sports Production) badge. As a result, the 2023 Ducati Monster SP is a superbike turned up to eleven.
The heart of the Monster SP is a 937cc liquid-cooled V-twin engine producing 111-hp. Its aluminum twin beam frame keeps the weight light. For the SP model, Ducati gave it lighter components to drop even more weight. In addition, the Monster SP features a new red saddle, fully-adjustable Ohlins suspension front and rear, and Brembo Stylema radial calipers. Moreover, the bike’s 43mm NIX30 forks are fitted with gold nitride sliders said to be 0.6-kg lighter than stock. Finally, using a lithium-ion battery it shaves another 2 kg off the Ducati Monster SP’s curb weight.
Other performance upgrades include a Termignoni silencer and Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tires. In addition, the Monster SP’s electronics include a new wet riding mode along with the standard cornering ABS and adjustable traction, wheelie, and launch control. Ducati claims that all these changes make the SP a faster, lighter, and sharper Monster superbike. The 2023 Ducati Monster SP arrives at dealers later this year. In addition, Ducati confirmed that an A2-compliant variant would also be available.
In other Ducati news, the brand collaborated with Lamborghini to produce the Ducati Streetfighter V4 Lamborghini.
