Honda is bringing back an endearing nameplate to its line of miniMOTOs, the Dax ST125. First introduced in 1969, the Honda ST125 Dax mini-motorcycle has undergone a revival for generations, new and old as a 2023 model. This reboot of a classic keeps its flair for the nostalgic while embracing modern technology where needed.

According to Honda, the new ST125 Dax’s 124cc four-stroke engine produces over nine horsepower and eight foot-pounds of torque to achieve speeds of up to 55 mph. Moreover, Honda claims the little motorcycle can achieve 150mph from its one-gallon fuel tank. Furthermore, its transmission is a four-speed manual with an auto-clutch. This means riders do not need to operate a clutch and only worry about changing gear via a lever.

Further evidence that this bike has the chops is a graphic of a Dachshund dog wearing racing goggles and wheels for legs on the ride side. The loveable dog breed inspired the name “Dax”, and the bike’s dimensions complement the sausage dog’s unique profile and stance. Other styling cues on the Honda ST125 Dax include a healthy amount of chrome accents and a racing stripe across its tank. The dash features round, retro-styled gauges with a negative LCD dash light. The new ST125 Dax’s bench seat is thick and long to accommodate a passenger with footpegs. Honda plans on selling the bike in the European market, and at this time, there is no word on when the 2023 Honda ST125 Dax will be available in the United States but we hope it’s soon.
