Genesis has released photos giving us a first look at its new electric vehicle, the 2022 Genesis GV60. This new EV is built on the E-GMP (Electric-Global Modular Platform) shared with the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6. Technical specifications on the Genesis GV60 will be released later this year. So all we have to go on are these press photos. What we notice on the 2022 GV60 is its lack of side mirrors. Instead, the EV is fitted with digital cameras. In addition, the vehicle profile shows flush door handles designed to pop out when passengers approach it.
The exterior design of the 2022 Genesis GV60 features the brand’s signature ‘Quad Lamps’ headlights and Crest Grille. However, because this is an electric vehicle, the non-necessary grille has been reshaped and positioned lower. The GV60 coupe-inspired roofline ends with a fixed rear spoiler and Two Line designed tail lights at the back. The GV60’s interior is a well-optioned luxury cabin with a floating center console. At the center of the vehicle is the GV60’s Crystal Sphere, which doubles as a light source and gear selector. Plush premium seats and large digital screens make up the cabin in the 2022 Genesis GV60, promising a ride quality that’ll be as comfortable as it is quiet. We expect to learn more about the 2022 Genesis GV60 EV by fall 2021.
