The 2021 Mercedes-AMG E53 Coupe stands out amidst a wide range of newly unveiled models with revamped designs. The most recently released E-Class model more than merits the AMG distinction. A 48v mild-hybrid powertrain from previous models powers the latest E53, relying on a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged inline-six engine that turns out 429 hp and 384 lb-ft of torque. The EQ Boost adds an extra 21 hp. That engine is paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission linked to Mercedes’ 4Matic+ AWD system. When all is said and done, the 2021 E53 can accelerate from 0 to 60 in just 4.4 seconds, with power that’s so potent that its top speed had to be electronically capped at 155 mph.
The 2021 Mercedes-AMG E53 Coupe also bears many of the renovated exterior designs that have been applied to the rest of this year’s E-Class. New headlights, a sportier body kit, and a vertically slatted Panamericana grille that replaces the previous model’s diamond-shaped version stand out the most. The same precision engineering has been endowed to the E53’s interior. The new AMG release is equipped with an MBX infotainment system, a customizable instrument cluster, and sport seating upholstered in black Artico and Dinamica microfiber. Red accents and an AMG badge add to the interior by echoing the exterior’s sporty appeal on the inside.
