When you want a sportscar performance in something that will go off-road, you’d be hard-pressed to do better than H&R Development Center and Burkhard Industries did when they partnered to create the 1986 Porsche 911 Syberia RS. This air-cooled 911 was transformed into an off-road machine featuring a custom-made coil-over suspension from H&R, ensuring “the maximum of traction and performance in every conceivable driving situation,” according to the suspension specialist.
Off-road tires, period-correct rims, and a custom exhaust system with two centrally-mounted tailpipes are just a few of the changes that H&R and Burkhard have made. Additional features to aid with off-roading include tie-downs mounted on perforated steel bumpers, rally lights on the hood, and a hidden winch to pull yourself out of any situation you might get into — or to pull your friends out when they get stuck. Inside features a roll cage and a Momo racing steering wheel.
