French watchmaker Wolbrook has reimagined its iconic 1960s Skindiver WT and the result is the Skindiver WT Chrono-Mecaquartz. This new release borrows from the original model’s styling, but reintroduces it in a modern timepiece, complete with a 60 second subdial, a 24-hour display, and a unidirectional bezel with a 60-minute timer and individual time zones. The vintage-inspired watch is powered by Seiko’s versatile Mecaquartz VK64 movement. This means that the chronograph part is actioned by a mechanism coming from mechanical chronographs while the regulation and timing parts are motorized by a quartz oscillator. The result is the best of both the mechanical and quartz timepiece worlds.
The 40mm Skindiver WT Chrono-Mecaquartz’s case is hand finished, brushed 316L stainless steel with a glass box sapphire crystal with inner anti-reflective coating. It is water-resistant to 100 meters and has drilled lugs for easy strap changes. The Wolbrook timepiece is available in different dial colorations with steel or black PVD treatment cases on one-piece leather straps or steel beads of rice bracelets.
