The boutique clothing brand Vollebak’s core mission has been deeply rooted in tackling the key challenges of the modern world, incorporating sustainable solutions into its approach to design and functionality. Its avoidance of petroleum-based dyes in the fabric coloring process and use of revolutionary material technology are key characteristics of its latest addition, the Vollebak Sashiko Chore Jacket.
A premium item constructed using the ancient Japanese method of sashiko, the Vollebak Sashiko Chore Jacket delivers exceptional durability through the use of 1 million high-strength stitches reinforced with 5.5km of meta-aramid thread. In addition to the Japanese-inspired technique that brings the garment together, it also uses Japanese indigo-dyed material to deliver an impressively detailed aesthetic.
The sashiko method, which translates as “little stabs” initially developed in the Edo period, minimizes the Vollebak Sashiko Chore Jacket’s susceptibility to wear and tear with outstanding, long-lasting resilience. A total of 5.5 kilometers of high-strength stitching has been utilized to create this robust performance, resulting in a jacket that weighs 1150 grams.
In addition to its high-end engineering and contours designed to follow the wearer’s body contours, the Vollebak Sashiko Chore Jacket is fitted with a selection of pockets, including two spacious angled side pockets and an inside chest pocket for smartphones and wallets. It’s finished with a run of five bio resin center buttons for fastening, complemented by additional buttons for the cuffs. The Vollebak Sashiko Chore Jacket represents the latest evolution in the brand’s pioneering journey, a premium clothing item with a premium price tag to match.
