Urwerk has a history of harnessing astronomical inspiration into some of the most uniquely designed watches on the market. Their latest release takes that approach into a partnership with De Bethune for an innovative timepiece with a truly avant-garde style.
The Urwerk x De Bethune Moon Satellite synthesizes stylistic elements of both watchmakers behind a blue polished grade-5 titanium case with a satellite window. The 43mm dial-less case uses a hand-wound URDB01 caliber movement under a U-shaped sapphire crystal aperture in a stunningly modern, if not futuristic, display. Each minute is accounted for on an arched track with each numeral clearly visible in a vibrant glowing blue colorway. The case is affixed to an alligator leather strap that uses that same polished titanium for its clasp. The result is a watch that looks like it was born out of a science fiction novel that gives credence to the idiom that the truth is stranger than fiction. This one-of-a-kind watch will be bid on at the Only Watch auction in Geneva, Switzerland on November 9th.
