Since the early 1920s, the craftsmen of Lorenzi Milano have produced fine handmade cutlery using such materials as horn, bamboo, wood, and mother of pearl. In successive years, the brand has expanded its product line to include many exceptionally designed everyday items. Now, Lorenzi has ventured into a collaboration with Milan-based watch microbrand Unimatic to introduce the Modello Due U2S-T-L, a limited edition of 99 pieces.
This new 38.5mm UNIMATIC watch is constructed from sandblasted titanium, a first for the brand. It is 31% lighter and 10% thinner than the standard Modello Due, which has a steel case. The new U2S-T-L boasts a Lorenzi green dial with markers in silver, a respectful nod to the visual codes of Lorenzi’s Milanese boutique. Super-LumiNova® C1 lume coats the hands and markers, making the face highly legible in the dark. Time is displayed thanks to the matching phantom ladder hands set and the reverse lollipop seconds hand with a silver tip. Adding to the legibility of the watch face is the 2.7 mm thick ultra double domed anti-reflective sapphire crystal, which provides the best performance in every light condition.
Like its predecessor, UNIMATIC x Lorenzi Modello Due U2S-T-L is powered by the Sellita SW200-1 automatic movement tuned to 28,800bph with 38h power reserve and hacking seconds hand. The watch also provides a water resistance tested individually to 300 meters. The U2S-T-L is paired with a handsome “Dark Chocolate” brown calfskin strap. Included with the watch is an additional TPU strap in the same green as the dial. The Modello Due U2S-T-L is available for purchase now and is priced at $850.
