Since 1926, when Hans Wilsdorf founded TUDOR Watch, the company has produced some of the toughest, most durable, and most reliable watches. Celebrating the 70th anniversary of the start of the two-year British North Greenland Expedition of scientific studies into glaciology and meteorology, TUDOR is launching a brand-new version of its Ranger 39mm tool watch. The TUDOR Ranger is a simple three-handed sports watch with a very friendly price point.
Featuring a satin-brushed 316L steel case with a matching fixed bezel and domed sapphire crystal, the watch is water-resistant to 100 meters. A surprising feature of the new TUDOR Ranger, but also a nod to tool watches from the past, is how the 3, 6, 9, and 12 numerals are coated in luminescent material, giving them a beige finish and making them glow at night. Their color also compliments the grained black dial and is close to matching the TUDOR logo and Ranger name. The arrow-shaped, rounded for the hours hand and angular for the second hand, reflect the Ranger’s aesthetics, and an eye-catching design flourish is found with the burgandy tip on the second hand.
The Ranger is powered by TUDOR’s caliber MT5402 automatic movement with COSC certification, boasting an impressive “weekend-proof” 70-hour power reserve and 27 jewels. For the bracelet, TUDOR offers a woven olive-green bracelet with two red stripes and one beige stripe, and an entirely satin-brushed steel bracelet, with the TUDOR “T-fit” clasp equipped with a system for rapid length adjustment. Finally, a bracelet in natural rubber and a fabric-like textured black leather, with beige topstitching is also available.
