Few works of art have had a bigger impact on their fans or the world at large than Star Wars. It’s needless to say that there exists a ravenous market for Star Wars memorabilia and behind-the-scenes information.

In its effort to present a definitive exploration of the original trilogy (Episode IV: A New Hope, Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back, and Episode VI: Return of the Jedi), the art book publisher Taschen called upon frequent collaborator and film historian Paul Duncan to create The Star Wars Archives: 1977–1983.

With the full cooperation of George Lucas and Lucasfilm, Duncan has produced a stunning quarter-bound hardcover book that features a wealth of illustrations over its expansive 604 pages. It also offers a treasure trove of production documents and moviemaking ephemera including concept art, storyboards, script pages, on-set photography, promotional stills, and theater posters.
