The latest project by the Ecuadorian architecture firm CU+AR ESTUDIO, the Collector’s House strikes a masterful balance between the functional and the aesthetic. First of all, the structure had to meet the specific requirements of its owner, who is a collector. This meant the design of a four-room modern house with ample comfortable social space as well as room to display a considerable collection of classic/vintage automobiles and related artifacts. Additional amenities include a luxurious swimming pool and a wood-paneled hot tub.

Taking this project to the next level, CU+AR ESTUDIO strove to incorporate the stunning natural landscape of Paute Canton, Ecuador, into every nook and cranny of this residence. Light and air enter the Collectors House through numerous openings, providing a range of beautiful color shades as the sun travels overhead. In addition to offering panoramic views from multiple vantage points, the structure features a tree in a pint-sized, modern courtyard that marks the transition between living and collection space.
