Star Wars has long had a history of cockpit flight simulators. The X-Wing and Tie Fighter games go back to the days of the N64, when the Rogue Squadron series instantly became a fan favorite. Quizzically, given that success there hasn’t been a true flight simulator produced under the Star Wars branding in years. The Star Wars: Squadrons Official Trailer gives a glimpse at the forthcoming revival of those games.
EA recently announced their latest game in the Star Wars franchise with a cinematic trailer. Tantalizing as it is, official gameplay footage has not yet been released but will be coming out in the following days. The game will be pitting the Rebel Alliance and the Galactic Empire against one another, where you as the pilot gets to choose which side you’re on. With first-person multiplayer options as well as a single-player story, EA looks to build on its Jedi: Fallen Order video game release with Star Wars: Squadrons. The game will officially come out on PlayStation, Xbox One, and PC on October 2nd.
