Skeleton Concept, a French atelier that offers a variety of customizations, modifications, and enhancements of world-class luxury watches, has unveiled the Skelton Concept Rolex GMT Master II “Batman” Presnel Kimpembe Concept. The timepiece is the result of a collaboration between the horologists of Skeleton Concept and French champion footballer Presnel Kimpembe, a center-back for Paris Saint-Germain. Kimpembe approached Skeleton Concept to both skeletonize the 3186 movements of his “Batman” version of the GMT-MASTER II Rolex and alter the shade of blue on the bezel to match his signature color.
Skeleton Concept redesigned the dial as an openwork piece, which includes a skeletonized dial and a blue inner bezel to highlight the inner workings of the movement. The atelier also replaced the date wheel with a transparent sapphire crystal version with black numerals, except for the number 3 which Kimpembe wears on his shirt at Paris Saint-Germain, that is dressed in blue. The transparent theme is continued on the reverse with a sapphire crystal exhibition caseback. The outer portion of the caseback is engraved to commemorate the Presnel Kimpembe Limited Edition piece, where the number 3 is also displayed. Skeleton Concept Rolex GMT Master II “Batman” Presnel Kimpembe Concept is now available to preorder.
