Open-ear earbuds are useful only if they stay put without becoming another piece of workout equipment to notice. The Shokz OpenFit Air 2 cuts weight and case bulk while changing the controls and acoustic hardware underneath.

Each OpenFit Air 2 earbud weighs 7.2 grams and uses a 0.75mm nickel-titanium alloy ear hook. The speaker sits at a 30-degree angle to direct sound toward the ear without sealing the canal, while the charging case is 10.5 percent smaller and the complete package 17.6 percent lighter than the previous generation. Pressure-sensitive buttons replace touch controls, reducing accidental inputs during training.

Shokz pairs its Bassphere dual-speaker system with OpenBass 2.0 processing and DirectPitch to reinforce low frequencies while limiting leakage. Bluetooth 6.1 supports multipoint pairing, and dual microphones use AI noise reduction for calls.

The earbuds carry an IP55 rating for sweat, splashes, and rain. Battery life reaches eight hours per charge and up to 36 hours with the case; ten minutes of charging returns up to three hours.
