In the wake of numerous victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans and both the Sebring and Daytona international raceways, the legendary status of the Ferrari 250 GT racer was cemented in history forever. So when Ferrari began designing the 250’s successor, its engineers truly had their work cut out for them.
Even when tasked with those lofty expectations, the Scaglietti 1966 Ferrari 275 GTB/C certainly didn’t disappoint. Even before its official 1966 release, this exceptional automobile placed first in its class and third overall at the 1965 Le Mans.
The 1966 275 GTB/C currently on the market through RM Sotheby’s is the ninth of just 12 GTB/Cs manufactured. Although it wouldn’t enter into autosport competition until the late 1960s, it boasts a storied racing history including a win at the Castell Arquato Vernasca.
Fully restored in 2017, this highly original car features matching numbers throughout.
