If you thought RUF’s reputation as a tuning company specializing in Porsches have been a limiting factor as to what they can create, you’d be mistaken. As part of their on-going effort to produce more complete vehicles, RUF is rolling out their latest model — the RUF SCR.

The latest iteration of their 911-based sports car comes in a lighter frame with more power, featuring a normally-aspirated 4.0 liter 6-cylinder boxer engine that produces 510 horsepower all rolled up into a speedy little package that weighs less than 1,300 kilograms for an unadulterated driving experience — quite a significant boost compared to the original model, which featured a six cylinder, 3.2-liter engine with a maximum of 217 horsepower. The car also features a new carbon fiber monocoque chassis and a fully carbon fiber body that has been reinforced by an integrated roll cage.

With more vehicles embracing forced induction as a norm these days, the new RUF SCR should be a welcomed addition to the automotive world for fans of normally-aspirated engines.
