The new Yacht-Master comes in a 42mm white gold case for this year’s Baselworld. Resembling a Sea-Dweller more than a traditional Yacht-Master, this black dial rendition of perhaps the most luxury-themed watch in the Rolex lineup tones down a bit in opulence (or at least on the surface, as it’s still in white gold).
The calibre 3235 movement is resistant to shock and magnetism. The bidirectional bezel features a matte black ceramic insert with raised graduations. Polished to perfection, the Yacht-Master 42 boasts a Chromalight display that glows blue in the dark (as opposed to the green glow of Super-Luminova).
The watch comes on a robust Oysterflex (rubber-coated titanium) bracelet, offering the comfort and durability suitable for a watch named the “Yacht-Master.” Like the sailor who is prepared for an unexpected squall, the watch is built for the unassuming man who subtly adds a touch of luxury to his daily outfits.
