It was strange to see Daimler kill off the Maybach brand so hastily, despite financially struggling to make a business case. The name Maybach itself is not only historically significant for Daimler but also to the auto industry. Too bad it had to be put on ghastly land boats that only rappers appreciated. Daimler takes a second stab at the Maybach name with the 2016 Mercedes-Maybach S600, introduced at the LA Auto Show. Propelled by a 523 hp twin-turbo 6.0 liter V12, this behemoth is 8.1 inches longer than the current S-Class. With that much power and size, matching that of Rolls Royces, the only thing left for this Maybach is to push forward.
