With an exemplary design, unfaltering functionality, and unparalleled mechanical watch construction, Ressence has released a limited-edition watch that is sure to excite collectors worldwide. With its monochrome design, the Ressence Type 3BBB is sleek, bold, and crystal clear. 3BBB stands for “Black, Black, Black” referring to the limited yet stylish colors used in this watch. Ressence’s patented Orbital Convex System (ROCS), is developed entirely in-house. The ROCS system calculates hours, days, and the date, with only the minute as a reference from the automatic movement. Unlike a traditional watch, there are no layers. Just as one reads from a piece of paper, all information is displayed flat and face on.
The Ressence Type 3BBB features a light crownless 44mm grade 5 titanium case sandwiched by anti-reflective sapphire crystals. One thing that makes this watch so unique is that it is split into two chambers: the top chamber is oil-filled whereas the bottom chamber is air-filled. The watch’s dial mechanism runs inside the oil. This oil-filled mechanism also features in the other Type 3 watches and “eliminates refraction giving the watch a perfect legibility under every angle”. The Type 3BBB watch also features a streamlined face with a removed seconds indicator, gray color tones, and all blue, extra-strong Superluminova for night mode. Watch functionality includes a 180-second runner, hour and minute time readouts, oil temperature, day, and date readings. Ressence will produce the Type 3BBB only during 2022, rather than produce a defined limited number of pieces. The watch comes on an anthracite ‘honeycomb’ strap, previously seen on Ressence’s Type 2A.
