Ressence released a special “Chronopassion” edition watch in collaboration with the Parisian watch boutique. Limited to 20 pieces, the watch is basically the Ressence Type 1 Slim in a new stealthy gray and black colorway. The name comes from “zwart zwart,” or “black black” in Flemish. (Also, the owner of the boutique Laurent Picciotto adds, that he is a huge fan of ZZ Top.)
Since we haven’t discussed the Type 1 Slim when it debuted earlier this year at SIHH, it’s basically the Type 1 but using the customized ETA 2892 instead of the ETA 2824, making it 2mm thinner at 11mm (from 13mm). The Type 1 ZZ Chronopassion features a 42mm DLC-coated titanium case, automatic winding, and a unique “crown” on the case back that turns like a knob (and will mesmerize any onlooker). As with all Ressence watches, this watch comes with a hefty price tag and a dismal water resistance rating of 1 atm. But boy, does it look gorgeous.
