RECARO and Porsche Design have teamed up to produce what the two brands are touting as a chair with better ergonomics than most “actual” gaming chairs. The RECARO x Porsche Gaming Chair Limited Edition was launched during the virtual 24-hour Le Mans race. The chair emphasizes comfort over flash – something more gaming chair companies need to do. That said, the chair looks a bit like someone took a Porsche seat and set it atop some copolymer-reinforced castors, but there’s plenty else under the hood here to like.
The chair is crafted from the same high-quality materials found in RECARO’s seats and features an embroidered Porsche crest on the front part of the headrest with RECARO branding on the back. Porsche’s distinct colorways feature prominently throughout the design.
The ergonomic shell supports roughly 330 pounds. It’s plush with upholstery foam and breathable materials that optimize comfort, while the integrated anti-submarining seat ramp is a posture power-up. Firm lumbar support and adjustable 5D armrests mean relief for weary bodies during marathon gaming sessions – or even during the work day for those willing to commit such sacrilege.
Gamers looking for the ultimate place to park it will need $2,499 and a touch of Porsche speed: there are only 911 units in this limited run (as if Porsche and RECARO had a choice).
