The Porsche Design Chronograph 1 Limited Edition for Hodinkee merges classic elegance with modern sophistication, adhering to F. A. Porsche’s original specifications while incorporating contemporary updates. Designed, developed, and handcrafted in Porsche’s Solothurn, Switzerland watch factory, this 2024 edition envisions what F. A. Porsche might have modified it for today’s market.
The 40.8mm wide,14.15mm thick case and matching bracelet are crafted from ultra-light, super-durable titanium and finished with a matte-black Titanium-Carbide coating. This updated timepiece retains the iconic 6-9-12 subdial layout with a 30-minute counter at the top, a 12-hour counter at the bottom, and running seconds at 9 o’clock.
The dial features the classic Porsche Design logo and font, along with the legacy-spec “1 Mile” graphic rehaut, a tribute to the U.S. market that Hodinkee calls home. A subtle ‘H’ at 6 o’clock, rendered in Porsche Design Red from 1972, marks the only reference to Hodinkee on the dial. Paying homage to the Japanese fan community, the day display at 3 o’clock is available in both English and Japanese. The Super-LumiNova® on the Chronograph 1 has a retro-inspired hue, darker on the dial indices than on the hands, giving it a classic, vintage feel.
Powered by the ultra-accurate Porsche Design Calibre WERK 01.140 with COSC certification, the Chronograph 1 is both precise and stylish. The movement is housed behind a closed titanium case back showcasing the historic Porsche Design logo, Hodinkee name, and limited-edition number alongside the engraving “TRILOGY – CHAPTER 1.” With only 350 pieces available worldwide, and the first 100 in the Hodinkee Shop for $9,650, this limited-edition watch is a collector’s dream.
