Polaris introduced a new vehicle aimed at the overlanding adventure crowd. It’s a side-by-side UTV that offers sporty performance and rugged capability to travel further on the road less traveled. This new vehicle is the 2024 Polaris Xpedition.
Powering the new 2024 Polaris Xpedition is the equally new 999cc ProStar 1000 Gen 2 parallel-twin engine producing 114 horsepower. This engine first debuted on the Polaris RZR XP. Furthermore, the Xpedition features the largest fuel tank in the brand’s history at 12.5 gallons to maximize the range of the vehicle to more than 200 miles (estimated). The engine’s power is managed by a CVT transmission offering low and high gears with all-wheel-drive on demand.
The suspension consists of Fox Podium QS3 dampers, with Position Sensitive Spiral technology, measuring two inches in diameter at the front and 2.5 inches at the back. Ground clearance is a whopping 14 inches thanks to its 30-inch ProArmor Crawler XP tires, which are mounted at the far corners of the vehicle for better stability. In addition, Polaris fitted the Xpedition with high-mounted air intakes and sealed all its electronics to ensure it’s ready to tackle rough terrain in all weather conditions.
The Xpedition lineup consists of two models, the XP and ADV, two and five-passenger configurations, and three trim levels: Premium, Ultimate, and Northstar. The main differences among the lineup are accessories and cargo box layouts. For example, the Xpedition ADV features a fully covered pass-through rear cargo box, while the XP has an open, dumping cargo box. Plus, a host of optional factory accessories, including a Pro Shield Cab system and air conditioning on higher trim levels. Pricing for the 2024 Polaris Xpedition focuses on the two passenger models first. Polaris will release the MSRP on the five-passenger Xpedition later in the year.
