Water shoes usually make their compromises obvious. The adidas Originals x Pharrell Williams VIRGINIA Watermoc revisits an archival Adventure Water Moc and keeps its amphibious logic while making the silhouette credible well beyond a riverbank.

A neoprene upper wraps the foot with a low U-shaped throat, while mesh panels introduce ventilation and faster drainage. Reflective webbing forms the eyestay structure, and a bungee system replaces conventional laces for quick adjustment. Underfoot, a rubber lug outsole gives the shoe enough bite for wet paths and loose ground without turning it into a hiking boot.

The proportions are deliberately compact. A low toe and close-fitting collar make the Watermoc read more like a slip-on trainer than technical watersports equipment, while the visible webbing and toggle keep the functional origin legible.

That balance fits the current interest in technical footwear without depending on an oversized trail-running midsole. Pharrell’s VIRGINIA identity appears subtly rather than as a dominant graphic.
adidas will release the unisex Watermoc globally on September 5 in blue, yellow, and black. U.S. pricing is $140.
